On Building Lyrics
I never said I'd prove it, I only said I'd show it
I gave you my all, but you wanted more
Lost on the inside, filling up the score.
I remember playing that one. It's stuck in my head.
Over and Over. I took and you bled.
I never said I'd prove it, I only said I'd show it
I gave you my all, but you wanted more
Lost on the inside, filling up the score.
I am impatient. Misunderstood.
What ever it is, I've got what it cured.
To your arms I run. My own life, it crumbles.
No longer am I damned. No longer do I stumble.
I remember playing that one. It's stuck in my head.
Over and Over. I took and you bled.
I gave you my all, but you wanted more
Lost on the inside, filling up the score.
Over and Over. I took and you bled.
I never said I'd prove it, I only said I'd show it
I gave you my all, but you wanted more
Lost on the inside, filling up the score.
What ever it is, I've got what it cured.
To your arms I run. My own life, it crumbles.
No longer am I damned. No longer do I stumble.
Over and Over. I took and you bled.

anyone know what is being screamed after "i remember playing that one"? i cant quite get it. i love this song, one of my favorites.
I just saw the video for this song, these guys are a great band.
i'm about to watch the video for this song.
has anyone heard the news? this video is gonna be played on mtv2 soon. or maybe they've already shown it. i don't have mtv2. :(
does anybodu know what the video means..i didnt really get it...thanks for helping me out...
i think the video's meaning is quite simple, it's about love getting to the point where you'd take the blame for everything they did, yet i think there's much more to the song than the video... i'm thinking that the lyrics are like, something that should hurt the guy actually hurts the one(s) he loves... anyway, TBM r0x0z j00r b0x0rz
oh...ok thanks anyway. But I really really do not understand who died? I've never seen this girl(?) in the video before so who is she?
er, well, i'm guessing that the guy who dies in the video is the girls boyfriend or husband or something, who mistreats her, at least it's what i think :)
hehe ok...thanks.I thought it was a girl :) But thanks for helping me out...now I understand the video much more...
I have the video on my Cinema Beer Buddy DVD and it seems pretty subjective to me. I kinda am persuaded to believe that the man who takes the blame for the woman killing her abusive husband/boyfriend is looking for redemption and receives it. It seems like he may have also been abusive in the past, and by taking the blame for killing the man, he has finally accepted that he's killed his old self/ways. I think the song's about redemption.
When I first watched the video I was extremely moved. In my opinion, I found quite a similarity in the man that offers the woman the card, to that of Jesus the Christ. That idea of Loving someone so fully and so passionately that you would take the blame for their wrongs is something I believe is at the core of Jesus' life. The man in the video sort of gives her a "get out of jail free card" which she uses at the end. That scene that cuts back and forth between the two being beaten is so profoundly moving to me. I keep thinking "by his scars we are healed." I don't know if this is what the band meant by the video, but that idea of sacrificial Love is something I found in it. This video in my opinion does a beautiful job giving a visual of something that is often times very abstract to most people. I love it!
