My view on this song is fairly simple: A woman whose love has left her, walked away without feeling. Even though she tries not to, she can't help but see he doesn't care anymore, and she wishes he did. Her life is entirely devoted to him, and her spirit dies when he walks away.
I love how much desperation is in this song! Anneke's voice is beautiful. But then, the only CD I have is the acoustic live performance, Sleepy Buildings.
