Haven Lyrics
Now as the lights go down
Deeper now it seems than long before
There are no noises here
Just a silence gone bad
Something I will never hide
This urging need to
Invite the darkside in
Invite the darkside
Invite the darkside in
Invite the darkside
In
In
In
Into my haven
If there were words for this
Would I sing or should I scream?
I'd give my blood to stay
My blood just to stay right here
Something I will never hide
This urging need to
Invite the darkside in
Invite the darkside

It could also be: "Something now will never heal".
The text seems to speak quite obviously of a safe space of the protagonist, a retreat, that however doesn't protect or seperate him from life's pain and grievances. Instead, he has a need to feel this dark side even there, which could be the point where it takes over completely (by even reaching the safe space), with the protagonist's consent and even explicitly expressed wish.
The first stanca is about the disappearence of light and sound, which seems to indicate all that is good is gone. The second one perhaps rather speaks of dispair; words, that should be sung or screamed, if they exist at all. Still, he likes to stay in this place, either because it is depressing, or because this haven is still the best (meaning most void of pain) place to be.
i think this song is totally about drugs ....if u really think about it ..its about drugs & the pain we go through to use drugs & the pain we feel because of drugs ..

I think instead this: "Something I will never hide" should be: "Something I can never share" (not in first time but second)
true....
Just like @totycro and @evillured said, the song definitely seems to refer to a type of addiction/ negativity. Something that is possibly wanted but while still being acknowledged as something 'dark'- bad, something damaging. It's a fascinating song that (just like the rest of the Haven album) carries so much meaning and thought, so much emotion and power. This whole album blows me away!
