i think it may be about a friend who found salvation or himself.
i think it may be about a friend who died. ASC's band name used to be "december's tragic drive", of course, from SDRE's song "seven", and it may tie in with this song's title.
kilgore trout is the name of a book by kurt vonnegut. i've never read it but anyone interested in this song go look it up and perhaps itll make more sense

i don't really get the lyrics. good song though. slow and stuff. and i noticed in the background there is a faint tapping noise.
This is about a friend of theirs that died. It was supposedly a pretty horrific crash on an icy road (it was December and all).
It seems pretty clear that it's about a death of someone close.
The "finding light" represents the typical "white light" one sees when they die and whatnot.
