He's talking about putting the needle in his arm. I think the three years too long is the length of his addiction. Everything scars the skin. Push the needle in. Push down the plunger.

I think the I gave it a start refers to his starting the drug. He's totally quitting her. There's blood in his spoon from the boiling heroin in the spoon.

"I'm gonna leave I don't need you " I don't need you to live happily.

Not certain of the full meaning, but "You're out of my highchair, I'm out of your womb" is a great way of saying "you're not my baby anymore, and I'm not yours".

when i first heard it i thought it was a baby in her womb speaking :P

first of all this songs is really cool i think its about a woman who is single and cant seem to find love and it cant seem to get feel better, maybe, anyway thats the mental picture im getting here.. oh and maybe the chourus us the words echoeing in here head.. ahh i dunno i just wrote somthing cause no one else did

anyway, nick's a big roky erickson fan, and roky's most famous song from his 13th floor elevators days is probably "you're gonna miss me" which deals with a similar subject

a heck of a song. this lyrics has a style so cruel and yet pretty way to say it's over.

one of, if not the best on the album such a good simple riff and the vocals are excellent.
