A Song For The Dead Lyrics
It's late enough to go drivin
And see what's mine
Life's a study of dying
How to do it right
You're a holy roller
Get your bed in the loose
If you're hanging around
I'm holdin' the noose
Come a little bit closer
And get on tight
In a horse rollin' over
Just a track in the line
Fuck it
Come on, let's go drivin'
Come on, let's take a little ride
That's the study of dying
How to do it right
And see what's mine
Life's a study of dying
How to do it right
You're a holy roller
Get your bed in the loose
If you're hanging around
I'm holdin' the noose
And get on tight
In a horse rollin' over
Just a track in the line
Fuck it
Come on, let's take a little ride
That's the study of dying
How to do it right

i neveer know whether to air drum or air guitar to this song... its one of my favourate qosta songs still havent much of a clue to what its about, experience i guess, which ulimately ends in death no matter how you live.
i loves the drums in this song...dave grohl is awesome
i love the gothic sounding moaning
this song isn't about suicide...... this song is about a man who's dead and there some people there who sing behind this grave.... then it's explaining some things... life's the study of dying... but sorry this song isn't about suicide and it's mentionned in the song.....just listen good to it.
i think all of you are wrong. Come on, let's go drivin Come on, let's take a little ride That's the study of dying. life is a drive. and it only lead to one place. DEATH. its about death, and how the road of life leads to it.
the way i see it, its about living life on the edge that you end up dying. learn about dying through experience. and then the afterlife is the same thing, you go balls to the walls and die again. and on and on. going fucking crazy til you die.
lol frost and mantis are completely deaf. A sweet fact about this song is that david grohl created the drums before any of the other music was put to it. If you listen you can tell that the drums carry the song. And thats why its so bad ass.
Grohl didn't make the drums for this song. They're lifted from the Black Flag song "Slip it In". This song is like a homage to them in that way. Great song.

ohk this is referring to TREXOR's comment about the singer. hes not a crappy singer. Mark Lanegan's vocals fit the song perfect. they sound gritty and dead in their own way. There is nothing wrong with Mark's singing.
Maybe it's about suicide...
