Dammit Lyrics

It's alright to tell me
what you think about me
I won't try to argue
or hold it against you
I know that your leavin
You must have your reasons
The season is callin
Your pictures are fallin down

The steps that I retrace
The sad look on your face
The timing, and structure
Did you hear that he fucked her?
A day late, a buck short
I'm writing the report
on losing, and failing
When I move, I'm flailing now

And it's happened once again
I'll turn to a friend
Someone that understands
Sticks to the masterplan
But everybody's gone
and I've been here for too long
to face this on my own
Well I guess this is growing up
Well I guess this is growing up

And maybe I'll see you
at a movie, sneak preview
You'll show up, and walk by
on the arm of that guy
And I'll smile, and you'll wave
We'll pretend it's ok
The charade, it won't last
When he's gone I wont come back

And it's happened once again
I'll turn to a friend
Someone that understands
Sticks to the masterplan
But everybody's gone
and I've been here for too long
to face this on my own
Well I guess this is growing up

Well I guess this is growing up
Well I guess this is growing up
Well I guess this is growing up
Well I guess this is growing up
Well I guess this is growing up

This song is about a break-up. The girl leaves him and finds somone else.

The first verse is her breaking up with the boy, "I know that your leavin, You must have your reasons". He just wants to know why she is leaving, "It's alright to tell me what you think about me".

The second verse is him hearing about her new bf "I heard he fucked her". He is looking back and wishing he could have done better "I'm writing the report on losing, and failing".

The chorus is him wanting to turn to his friends to help get over the girl, but whilst he was with her he pushed his friends away. "But everybody's gone and I've been here for too long". So he has to get over her by himself.

The next verse is him running into her at the moives. "And maybe I'll see you at a movie, sneak preview ", i think the sneak preview is reffering to him seeing her in her new relationship. The end of this verse is him saying that she is only with her new bf to distract herself from feeling hurt and that in the end she will want to come back to the first bf but he wont want her back by then, "The charade, it won't last When he's gone I wont come back".

The next chours actualy changes. If you listen he is actually saying "And it's happened once again you'll turn to a friend". "But everybody's gone and you've been here for too long". All the I's are now you's and the my's are your's. So basically he is saying to the girl that when she realises she doesnt really want her new bf she will be in the same position as he was when she broke up with him at the start, with no friends to turn to.

The "I guess this is growing up" means what it says. He is learning about relationships and heartbreak, as is she.

Well thats how it seems to me, anyone agree?

"They Are Sell Outs" is such a stupid thing to say. If you started a band and played clubs and you were having alot of fun with it, and got no money from it, eventually you would stop what you love because you would need to get a real job. But then, if you were playing clubs and someone came up to you and said hey you can make millions of dollars if you make an album, would you say no? I didn't think so....

Perfectly Said. Blink were awesome before they got big. They got big made tons of money and epic videos

i think that lyrics here are wrong (just one part). if you listen to the song it sounds like "and it'll happened once again, I'll turn HER into a friend" or at least thats what im hearing but i could be wrong. if someone would please verify this that would be great.

this song is simply about being a guy, and getting dumped by your girl. The first verse is about how the guy isn't judging her for breaking up with him. He's sort of accepting it. The 2nd verse is about the guy going back in his mind and wondering where the relationship went wrong. His mind is kind of a mess. The chorus is all about the guy turning to his friends for support, to help him get through the aftermath of the breakup. He sort of realizes that he has to get past the breakup, and sort of take it as another experience, hence, "well I guess this is growing up." Finally, the 3rd verse is about how the guy sees his ex with another guy. He has a little bit of animosity towards her, but he doesn't really show it. He's pretty much over her, so when she decides she wants him back, he won't want to. This song is awesome, it means a lot more to me now, since I just got dumped, and the lyrics basically emulate everything I'm feeling right now.

blink 182 at their best. this song rules. okay, so blink 182 became popular...so what? just because they made it doesnt mean they suck...they just happened to make a little more money and got a little more publicity..plus, they grew up a bit. but still, they still kick ass!

Cover art for Dammit lyrics by Blink-182

I thought this was about the songs and the lyrics, not who sold out and who hasn't Truth, Beauty, Freedom and Love

although blink are total sell outs..i mean come on.. BACKPACK ADS? wow backpacks are just as trendy as mariah's attempt to start a glitter mark on her arm a trend..but anyways..this is probably their only decent song..well old blink is good. but i learned this song on my guitar, and they toured with the ataris. so go old blink.

WTF ther are so not sell outs! the put the time and efort into all ther songs and then thers people out ther like you, what the hell..."old" blink?? whats that mean they were always original!
