Triangle Lyrics

We're born into silence and let it all be
Lift your anchor and just float astray
Born into silence and let it all be
Fortune in silence

Watch it explode
While fragments of ironies examples fly
And hit the shore
And tyranny's torn
From the podiums where leaders stand
But rule no more

Plead with nothing why don't we lecture about something
Protest the way we're passive today

Watch it explode
While it's not impossible
For flowers to bloom and grow next to graves
And babies are born
In the same buildings where people go
To pass away
Pass away

Plead with nothing why don't we lecture about something
Protest the way we're passive today

We live like penguins in the desert
Why can't we live like tribes
We live like penguins in the desert
Why can't we live like tribes

We live like penguins in the desert
Why can't we live like tribes
We live like penguins in the desert
Why can't we live like tribes

Born into silence and let it all be
Lift your anchor and just float astray
Born into silence and let it all be
Fortune in silence

Seems to be about the general unwillingness of people to do anything about anything in todays society. Lovely song, one of my faves on El Cielo.

It's actually "why don't we lecture about something"

I think you guys can change on this part: "While its not impossible for flowers to bloom and grow... next to grapes .. " The word grapes for graves, That's just what I think.

If any of you have the lyrics for the last song in El cielo (I'm not too sure about the name but it's the one that begins with: "Does anybody feels this way" or something) please upload it!! I need the exact lyrics.

I think he says "protest away... we're passive today" NOT "Road test the way...."

it seems more fitting.

It's definitely graves. I just love the lines "We live like penguins in the desert / Why can't we live like tribes?" I'm not gonna go into some anti-societal rant or anything, because I wouldn't want to live in any other society, but in certain situations in contemporary America this outlook is all too prevalent.

i think that official lyrics to El Cielo were released on the german dredg website (at least they're almost perfect, i've been relying on them since El Cielo came out)..

this song might be called Delta as well... because a delta is a symbol that looks like a triangle and is often used (in physics, for example) to mean variation. and this song is definitely connected to that (life and death).

Ok, it is called Triangle for sure and it is "protest the way, we're passive today" and it is not "fortunate silence", but "fortune in silence". Where the did you people find these lyrics? Look on the Dredg.com website for the real deal.

"Watch it explode Wild fragments of irony's examples fly and hit the shore..."

as well as the changes suggested before.

I see this song as a spiritual description of the cycle of life, with hints here and there of a society that has succumbed to passivism.

I've always noticed that when staying silent, I can observe the environment around me so much more. Whether that be humans, plant life, or anything- I just feel the environment. We ARE born into silence.

But, the "born into silence" portion can also be about generations being born into a passive environment. The silence could represent the silent majority of this land, where mostly everyone succumbs to their surroundings, and leaves issues unstated. These newly borns are surrounded by humans who "live like penguins in the desert", and many may follow the penguins lead.

The chorus sounds like it is in the perspective of someone who is passive. It almost gives a hopeless vibe: that no matter what, it is impossible to escape the slumber we have fallen into.

There are so many things that could be said about this song, and there are also a bunch of ways of taking the lyrics. Who can know for sure? My absolute favorite Dredg song.

Actually, thinking about it again, I almost feel that Gavin is saying that, although we may protest and lecture about idealism, a passive nature will always be in our system. That maybe being spiritually passive (embracing silence) is what brings us the peaceful serenity we desire.
