The Pain Of Separation Lyrics
how can i bear this any longer?
arms stretched out only to hold separation
take me away
i'm dying inside, emptied before you
i will fight until the day when i will see
sight given to these blind eyes
when will i be taken from this life?
take what is your
you deserve more than my life
arms stretched out only to hold separation
take me away
i'm dying inside, emptied before you
i will fight until the day when i will see
sight given to these blind eyes
when will i be taken from this life?
take what is your
you deserve more than my life

"how can i bear this any longer?" Jesus received soo much criticism, etc. before he was crucified-that's WHY he was crucified in the first place. during His time, blasphemey (claiming to be God-like or as high as/higher than God) was not only a sin, but a crime; so the people who didnt believe that Jesus really WAS the son of God believed He was being blasphemous, which was worthy of crucification.
"arms stretched out.." a reference to Jesus' arms stretched out on the cross, dying;
"..only to hold separation. take me away." when Jesus died, He was automatically separated from us here on earth, or at least in the psychial sense. Jesus was, however, not afraid to die. He died so that WE may live.
"i will fight until the day when i will see sight given to these blind eyes" Jesus, as we all know, was able to heal the blind, deaf, dumb; He was also able to cure lepers and people with many other kinds of diseases. this is a reference to having Jesus make him have sight again.
"I'm a 'nonchristian' and I'm well aware of what kind of band As I Lay Dying is. It is possible to have interests that lie in something that is different that you."
But if people like ENi are "sick of hearing about jezus", then they're listening to the wrong band...
And to Naive Amoeba, Romans 14:11 says "'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'EVERY knee will bow before me, EVERY tongue will confess that I am God.'"
An awesome song of praise and desperation to Jesus Christ, wanting nothing more than to be home with him =]
Hah.. oh man. I didn't expect a showdown of people who love God and people who despise Him when I came here to look up the lyrics to this song.. Anyway, frickin' kudos to everyone who stood up for God. :D Seriously makes me happy.
Just because you are agnostic doesn't mean Christians can't share their thoughts on an openly Christian band.

Jesus is not papacy or anything close to it. Jesus loves you all and shed blood for you
I'm gonna just ignore the whole atheist outcry. They'll believe God exists eventually, whether before or after they die.
I get the refferences to Jesus on the cross, But i also believe the song is about a guy talking to god about his longing to be in heaven and to be taken away from earth. "when will i be taken from this life"
I think that this song is about Jesus and Christianity, but I don't agree with jennifer ever3's thoughts on it. I'm leaning more toward what cheddarhead4 is saying.
LawL, i like when nonchristians like a christian band.. do they even know?? silly people.. anyway this is about jesus no matter if you like him or not
haha i agree with you blackrocker
