Mirrorball Lyrics

mirrorball

you never knew the teenage me
and you would not believe
the things you didn't see
some pretty some ugly
and the lovely mirrorball
reflected back them all
every triumph every fight
under disco light

c'mon, girl, it's all right
c'mon, girl, it's all right now
c'mon girl, it's gonna be all right now

well, I guess some boys adored me
but the one I loved ignored me
and caused me in the end
to murder my best friend
and though I got her letter
it never did get better
and I got out of my head
then I joined a band instead

c'mon, girl, it's all right
c'mon, girl, it's all right now
c'mon, girl, it's gonna be all right now

some good times I remember
my birthday that september
we laid down on the lawn
and counted until dawn
the stars that we lay under
and is he still I wonder
the fairest of them all
mirror mirrorball
mirrorball

c'mon, girl, it's too late
c'mon, girl, it's too late now
c'mon, girl, let it all go
c'mon, girl, it's too late now
c'mon, girl,
it's gonna be all right
c'mon, girl,
it's never gonna be all right
it's too late now
let it all go
it's never gonna be all right

Tracey is singing a semi-autobiographical song about her life. Talking about making pst miostakes and how it's too late to go back but everything is gonna be fine.

She's singing to the audience about growing up, the good things and the bad things that make you who you are. She sings specifically about a boy she liked that ignored her and presumably chose her friend over her, in effect, "murdering" their friendship.

The song goes on to describe laying under the stars and wondering if that boy she thought she loved so long ago was still the fairest of them all. The Mirrorball is an allegory for the reflecting back on her life.

ugh I didn't use spellcheck, lol

i think it's about having a falling out of sorts with somebody and looking back on all the madness that's gone down. ya know, trying to convince yourself that everything's gonna be fine.

quite possibly one of my favorite lines ever: "well i guess some boys adored me, but the one i loved ignored me and caused me in the end to murder my best friend."

even though the music is really cheesy, this song says just the right thing, at just the right time, to me. becuase it sucks when you love someone and they dont love you back.

haha and when you have nobody to talk about it with, its really nice to listen to the song and know that somebody else, and maybe a lot of other people feel the same way, and maybe want to talk too.

From start to finish Mirrorball is one of the most beautiful pieces of art i have ever heard. A good house track eases the listener in a deep trance and drains his or her emotions occasionally sparking sporadic thoughts outside of the lyrics.

This song does much more than that. The way the words are put together simply begs to share your memories. The song interacts with the listener celebrating commiserating and often times losing him/her in the beat all the way through.

You know you have a winning artist when a track can Talk to you.

But of course. This interpretation and critique is just my humble opinion...
