ok i love this song cause it showed me who i really loved. i was at a rooney show with 2 girls i liked. one i liked more than the other cause i had worked with her more but i also had some interest in the other girl. this song came on and i was really confused cause i liked both girls! by the end of the night i realized that i was in love with "the other girl" and we are still going out !!! i love her, yes i love her!
This song reminds me of this guy that I liked and he never ever told me how he felt because he was worried what other people would think. And when he did, we had to conduct our relationship away from our friends, because we're like complete opposites.

I absolutely love this song. Whenever it hits the chorus of "she doesn't know that I love her", I always feel like I'm flying. The music just soars through it. I definately relate with this one too... it's an easy one to identify with.
i think everyone expierences what happens in this song. its happening to me but its her brother thats in the way.
Heh, I can relate to this song. But like live:evil stated, I think everyone experiences this.
IMO, I think there can be two meanings to the song:
1) Obviously, he wants to be completely secluded with this girl that he loves. Though, she doesn't know that he loves her. He's directly stating to leave the duo alone. ("Stay away" and "Leave us alone, your friends and my friends..)
2) He could be singing about how he'd like to hide their relationship from their friends. Some people believe such a thing can make it all the more intimate and personal.
after reading all these interpretations, i reckon mine was pretty wrong...
the first few lines seemed to be telling a girl to stay away from his friends because they were 'smooth operators' and he was afraid she would be more interested in them than in him, but this doesn't really fit that well with the rest of the song.
I think that what he's saying is that he's in love with her, but she has no clue and that she always seems to go for his friends, so he doesn't want her around them because he knows they'll just use her. And I think she only see's him as a friend. And he wishes that he could just get rid of all of their friends so they can be together alone until she also realizes the he loves her, and hopefully she'd feel the same.
