Come on Kids Lyrics
"This is not about drugs. It's about flying," said Sara at the Van Folk Fest show.
"we’ve got so many friends that wear their feet too big for their shoes"
haha i love that part because it is saying how sometimes people are cocky and dont live up to what they say.
I dont understand how this song isn't about drugs. I mean, yea the beginning can be related to flying but what about the pills reference and the life some lose because of them?
"we’ve got cities to visit we’ve got trees we’ve yet to live in"
I love those lines! They make me all happy and positive, thinking of all the places I can go and the adventures that await me. :]
Tegan and Sara =
come on, talk about extacy! I LOVE THIS SONG, it could be a metaphor, but either way ITS AMAZING.
Remember that songs aren't always meant to be taken in a literal sense. I think the 'pills' represent taking risks in your life; it doesn't mean you should go and get high, just step outside your comfort zone and experience something fun and wonderful. Great song! I just wish they would've included the lyrics in the cd booklet.
Get yourself on top of me before I'm GONE, GONE, GONE. Amazing line.
I really just can't stop listening to this song. I take it literally, matching my life perfectly.
As in, knowing what you're doing, knowing how much you could do & how much you can lose, but still doing it anyways. "...feet too big for their shoes," I think, acting older than you are. Having expectations of yourself that are much too big to fulfill, and you know it. But you, and all your friends, are the same way. I take it as literal pills, literally being high, and all of that. It's more me that way.
This is the only Tegan and Sara song that I absolutely HATE.
I think this is a brilliantly sarcastic song about how people don't really get it. And about all the stupid things we do that are such a big waste of time.. ..instead of just having fun and making love together. :pd:
