Don't Burn Me Up Lyrics

don't you get tired, baby
it's almost morning
can't you control your desire
????
compulsive liar
you've been coming home the same
wanting me to get ahead of the rest
don't burn me up
i might not be here for tomorrow's fire
how dare you treat me like
someone you'd hire
how dare you say "i love you"
like something it stands for
i needed someone that i could admire

I think this song is about some jerk that only wants her for sex and when she says "how dare you treat me like someone you'd hire" it seems like this guy threatens her with...if you don't do what i say you wont be able to live here anymore. And the whole "don't burn me up" i think it's also talking about having sex, and how shes fed up of it.

It says to me "I married you, I own you and can do as I please, and you have to go along whether you want to or not." and it's not so much about just wanting sex it's about lack of respect. and the fallacy of the relationship, the guys says "I love you" when it suits his purposes but there's nothing to back it up. "Don't say you love me SHOW me that you do."
