Flamethrower Lyrics
it's the end of the morning
what have i done?
it's finally getting warmer
oh God what have i done?
prayers for your soul while hoping mine
would leave this awful place sometime
somewhere better with no more pain
you won't love him you'll love me again
i was the one the one who was always here
fate seeks my soul and it's drawing near
i'd die today if you could forgive me, dear
i said that anything mattered... words
i'd sing you a song i'd love you if i knew how
it's too late to hold or kiss you now
He wont remember were made perfect somehow
"this morning is different" ... words
i look down she's asleep in a place she can smile again
the world will forget her as she disappears to them
i swore i'd love her i'd rather pretend
"all these tears are for you" ... words
with poison within me and everything still
i know now what i have to do (what i never will)
i will lift up my eyes to the hills
promises, promises, promises ... words
what have i done?
it's finally getting warmer
oh God what have i done?
prayers for your soul while hoping mine
would leave this awful place sometime
somewhere better with no more pain
you won't love him you'll love me again
i was the one the one who was always here
fate seeks my soul and it's drawing near
i'd die today if you could forgive me, dear
i said that anything mattered... words
i'd sing you a song i'd love you if i knew how
it's too late to hold or kiss you now
He wont remember were made perfect somehow
"this morning is different" ... words
i look down she's asleep in a place she can smile again
the world will forget her as she disappears to them
i swore i'd love her i'd rather pretend
"all these tears are for you" ... words

why has noone confessed their love for this song yet? i will be the first. i love this song. in my opinion, this is one of the best mewithoutYou lyrics that have been released.
The song gets so powerful at the end when two are singing instead of one. You can feel the emotion being screamed at you. Definetly one of their best songs.
I have two versions of this song? the lyrics are teh same but the guitar parts are a bit different and one lacks all those background effects an feedback, and the way he sings it is different. Wierd.
The last line...Fugazi reference?
All of mewithoutyou's song are just so awesome because when they sing and their lyrics are just so powerful. I can feel their emotion in every song they sing, especially this one when the two are screaming near the end. Gives me chills. I get so hooked into the songs I can't change them.Definitely love this band.
I love this song. I got the i never said i was brave ep off ebay and this song struck me immediately, so much passion and feeling, so inspring. He seems to be talking about some sorta relationship ending and his pain in searching for comfort, like he's looking to G-d but starting to doubt his promises. I will lift my eyes to the hills is taken from a psalm, looking to the hills for G-d's help, but then he goes on to say promises, promises words, like where are you G-d, your promises aren't true. I think all folllowers of Christ go through doubt in times of struggle, i think aaron's pain and doubting questions refined him to be the awesome serving example of Love he is today. shalom
when he says "promises, promises, promises.. words" i at first thought he was talking about God's promises as well.. but upon further examination.. he's talking about how many promises he himself makes to God and to other people but never comes through with them, or he's lying.. take for example.. every time he says "words".. right before that, is a line about him saying something "i said that anything mattered" , "this morning is different"(in quotes) , "all these tears are for you"(in quotes) , "i will lift up my eyes to the hills"... but the most apparent one is "i swore i'd love her, i'd rather pretend".. all of them are examples of him saying something that he really didn't mean.. and that's why i think the song starts of with that powerful line "oh God, what have i done?" he makes all these claims and promises that he really doesn't believe in himself.. this song is powerful to me because it's so much an example of my own struggle.. it's helped me become more honest and making good on what i say..
