Glasshouse Tarot Lyrics
I don't snap on like you want me to
because it still hurts my eyes when they turn red
I sit down, rode all the way next to my heart
it beats to the time too close to your truth
chorus:
Yeah the tarot broke, open the glasshouse
and this might just be the saddest day I've ever known
My arms are tied behind disease
I'll probably be gone the next time too
in a corner in a shadow I sit self-obsessesed
too busy, too important to say goodbye
This regret, it kills you'll never forget
take the time this time to say your goodbyes
because it still hurts my eyes when they turn red
I sit down, rode all the way next to my heart
it beats to the time too close to your truth
Yeah the tarot broke, open the glasshouse
and this might just be the saddest day I've ever known
I'll probably be gone the next time too
in a corner in a shadow I sit self-obsessesed
too busy, too important to say goodbye
take the time this time to say your goodbyes

The last time I saw Sparta they said the song was about finding out that someone very close you, yet 500 miles away, had died. Or something really close to that.
this song is heart breaking. just the lyrics alone are:
"This regret, it kills you'll never forget take the time this time to say your goodbyes"
it just chokes me
This song for some reason reminds me of 9/11 but I doubt its about that
this song is fucking beautiful
in a corner in a shadow I sit self-obsessesed too busy, too important to say goodbye
This regret, it kills you'll never forget take the time this time to say your goodbyes
pure excellency basically your old regret song
"in a corner, in a shadow I sit self-obsessesed too busy, too important to say goodbye"
I beleive it's just about being in a band and having tragic things happen to loved ones, but you have to keep moving, keep performing.
the title of the song comes from a show they were playing at a place called the glass house. the PA broke down, and while it was being repaired the guys just started jamming. the really nifty lead-in to the song is what they came up with while they were jamming.
it seems to me that it is about losing someone you love but at the time were in a fight with, and then having to live and regret it, you begin to hate yourself for being mad at them... "I'll probably be gone the next time too in a corner in a shadow I sit self-obsessesed too busy, too important to say goodbye
This regret, it kills you'll never forget take the time this time to say your goodbyes"
This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Ir was also the first Sparta song I ever heard, and it had me hooked on them instantly. This is by far one of my favorite songs ever, and easily the best Sparta song, in my opinion. The harmony of all the different parts, and the urgent yet unobtrusive singing- Jim's voice really is just another instrument in this song.
great song
I can't explain why, but this is one of my all-time favorite songs. I'm not even a big Sparta fan, but this song just kills me. I'm with most of you guys...it's pretty much an elegy.
