The Blizzard of '96 Lyrics
Windows
Close just like my eyelids as I'm sleeping
Lift the blinds up slowly, let the night in
We've begun to work things out again
There's no other way around it
Windows
Close just like your eardrum, as I'm saying
Let's forget those things I did this winter
We've begun to work things out again
There's no other way around it
Close just like my eyelids as I'm sleeping
Lift the blinds up slowly, let the night in
We've begun to work things out again
There's no other way around it
Close just like your eardrum, as I'm saying
Let's forget those things I did this winter
We've begun to work things out again
There's no other way around it

It's almost as if he's begging for forgiveness for some wrong that he has done to someone...but the person is not very receptive to his pleas. He's telling him/her that what's done is done and there's nothing left to do but to try to resolve things. The music is very melodramatic and almost gives the impression that he is in tears as he's singing.
I don't know if that's what he's saying, but that's what I'm going through right now. So yeah. Keep on singin'.
The music in this song is lovely, with the muted piano and soft shaking beat. It works very well with Walter Martin's vocals.
Dam, this song is beautiful! Its called "Blizzard" because you can hear and feel one. Subway Intro, woodclick tears fallilng against the "window", then the pitter-patter rain of the muted piano, shuffling tambourine snow, drumkick comes in like thunder - evocative imagery through music
Very Beautiful song. I can't believe its been 3 years since I entered these lyrics.
It's christmas time but the family's asleep. We dodged all of the awkward talk despite the fact we weren't talking. As the snow comes down, neither of us can drive around it, we talk it out, there's no way around it. That's what this song says to me.
