Too Far Gone Lyrics

I should warn you
Things you're feeling
Aren't normal now
Think you need me
It's not easy
Let you go some how

Now we're too far gone
Hope is such a waste
Every breath you take
You give me the burden's bitter taste
You promised that you'd stay
You say you wanna go
Your lips provide a shelter
For the things that I don't know

Please speak slowly
My heart is learning
Teach me heartache
Stop this burning now

Wishful thinking, patience shrinking
Bliss is far away
(Far away, far away)
North is calling
Now I'm falling at your feet
Please stay

Now we're too far gone
Hope is such a waste
Every breath you take
You give me the burden's bitter taste
You promised that you'd stay
You say you wanna go
Your lips provide a shelter
For the things that I don't know

Please speak slowly
My heart is learning
Teach me heartache
Stop this burning now (x4)

the lyrics here aren't very correct, but I still love the song... What makes good lyrics? Something that people can relate to & I can totally relate to these. I know I have no right to expect him to stay, but I hope for it anyway, even if it IS in vain...

All American Rejects is an incredible band. They're one of my faves. But could some one please clear up the meaning of the song, I'm a little confused.

thanks for the correct lyrics, martina! I have several different ideas on what this song is about... I think in the very first 3 lines, he's talking to himself...then in the rest he's talking to his girlfriend. I believe that this girlfriend of his is going away (somewhere up north...maybe college?) He is all torn up that she's actually going, because she'd promised she wouldn't & the fact that she is going is killing him...@ the end he's begging her to stay... sigh So sweet... -- Rock on AAR!
