Fly Lyrics
Where do bad men go when they die?
And mother says you'll go there but
Wings for her and I and I don't mind
Cause I have always wanted to learn to...
Fly... learn to
Fly... learn to
Fly... learn to
Fly...
If I take this, am I going to die?
And he says no, so then I figure what the hell
I'll try cause it's my life
So light the match and you and I will...
Fly... learn to
Fly... learn to
Fly...
And someday I'll be there I swear to you, God, as my witness
For all the trusts I've broke and, let justice know, it's just that easy
Cause I'm a liar, I conspired, I'm a liar...
It's not your gun and bloody hands
Don't hide behind locked doors
In dresser drawers those bullets wait to fly...
Fly... wait to
Fly... wait to
Fly...
I've crawled eternity to beg forgiveness
And someday I'll be there I swear to you,
God, as my witness
For all the trusts I've broke and,
let justice know, it's just that easy
Cause I'm a liar, I conspired, I'm a liar...
Album: Curb (1996)
this song reminds me of nirvana... don't yell at me if you disagree. :P
well i don't agree but i still like it a lot...
i don't agree either... oh wait! i said that... but seriously... this song absolutly does not sound like nirvana... i must have been in some... altered state... HAHA... i like the song anyway... it's awesome
I love this song! Of course, because it's Nickelback, that's mostly why. But it's awesome. And Chad's voice is so perfect.
I think it sounds like Nirvana too. I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is a cover song for Nickelback....
This aint a cover song, Chad wrote the lyrics about his dad
The first verse is obviously him saying about going to heaven and his dad not, the second is either smoking weed or crack, some form of drug anyway. I think the last verse is like him saying he felt like at times he could've shot his dad (obviously he couldn't as his dad wasn't in the picture as he grew up)
This boy got into his daddy's drugs, the same one's that mommy said are gonna send daddy to hell. Maybe they were a little rough on him cause now he's searching for a way back.
Sounds like this guy's had a pretty messed up childhood. Don't get me wrong, I love nickelback. He asks his dad "Where do bad men go when they die" because "mother says that you'll go there but wings for her and I and I don't mind" Obviously his mother's put it into his head that his dad is going to hell and they're going to heaven. And this kid doesn't mind cuz he's always wanted to learn to fly...to get away from his dad. Second verse: His troubled childhood turns into troubled teen years. His older brother's got drugs "If I take this am I going to die" his brother says no, so he takes it. Cuz he's finally realizing that it's his life, so light the match and he'll learn to fly...to, once again, get away from his dad. The third verse: the father's telling his son that it's not his gun and bloody hands don't hide behind locked doors. But in dresser drawers, those bullets wait to fly...to get him away from his dad. Either to kill his dad or himself, not sure. But at the same time he's plotting to kill his dad, he's having these thoughts that tell him it's not right. "I'm on my hands and knees I've crawled eternity to beg forgiveness someday I'll be there I swear to you, God, as my witness, for all the trusts I've broke let justice know, it's just that easy, cuz I'm a liar, I've conspired, I'm a liar." Talking about how easy it is to get around the law...maybe he already killed his dad, but is having problems coping, so is promising that he'll be there, God as his witness. Any of this making sense??
