Hollywood Lyrics

Please don't be too long while you're gone
There ain't enough to keep me here too long
Not like the last time I stood in line
Just enough to keep me bouncing off the wall, yeah

The new day, the new tray that comes around
Pills and all, enough to kill him while he sleeps
Is this the alley we dragged him to
Just off of Hollywood and Normandy

It didn't work like she said it would
Just like livin in Hollywood
Just like a bad dream, or so it seems
Just like I'm back in emergency

Please don't be too long while you're gone
There ain't enough to keep me here too long
Not like the last time I stood in line
Just enough to keep me bouncing off the wall, yeah

It didn't work like she said it would
Just like livin in Hollywood
Just like a bad dream, or so it seems
Just like I'm back in emergency

Aren't ALL drug overdoses bad??? I agree, though, and it is, of course a great song. Nickleback can't write a bad song, it doesn't matter what it's about, it's good...come on, prove me wrong!

yes, all drug over doses are bad, look at the lead singer of Alice in Chains! ;;hangs his head in shame;;

Or Andrew Wood...=-(

I think this song is about a junkie, and the trips to the methdone clinic "Not like the last time I stood in line Just enough to keep me bouncing off the wall".

Yep def a drug overdose prob in an alley between hollywood and normandy

I don't dispute the drug meaning as most of Nickelback's songs have them, but i also derived the meaning of some other lines like an attempted muggin/robbery that ended in an accident (if it had worked like she said it would, just like living in Hollywood) meaning they'd be rich.

The Hollywood and Normandy line I thought would be a reference to the victim being a veteran of WWII and how people have no respect for them, to survive that and be killed by a thug, disgusting.
