I agree with Morning Star, from several other songs on "Silver Side Up" I get that the Kroeger's father was abusive towards their mother. This song seems to be about Chad's longing to get back at his father for all of the things that his mother went through. It's one of my favourites on the album!
This could easily be told by a boyfriend/partner, brother, father or grown up son. Obviously a man/the singer wanting to get revenge on another man who was abusive to a woman she loves.

In my opinion, this song is about a guy's friend (that's a girl) was hurt by her boyfriend. Possibly rape...if I was the chick who this song was wrote for, I'd feel pretty damn good. It's the best thing when a guy sticks up for you like that. :)
