This song really hits home for me as it does with a lot of people, my dad has never really been around for me and my sister. First time I saw him in 3 years was a couple months ago at my grandmothers funeral. This year was the also the first time he called me on my birthday in 4 years. He never really said goodbye and he calls the house every once in a while(You left without saying goodbye although I'm sure you tried, You call the house from time to time to make sure we're alive).
i used to think this song cuz be like about someone who had like an older brother/sister and they left while the younger kid was growing up and the older brother/sister never actuyally said goodbye to them. then they come back and they just start talking ...and walking [lol] and talk about how things used to be and stuff... and how all the younger one ever hears about is how hard life is an shit and hes telling his older brother/sister about they've actually made it and hes proud of what hes become..umm but yeh i just watched the video and the dad leaving makes more sense although like the older sibling cuz have left cuz of ther father being abusive and thats why the father is ..guilty..ahem..anyway that probably makes no sense but xD

Song is about how is like to live a life without people who you loved or cared about,best friends,families and true loves,when they are gone,days you spent are harder times,you'd wish your life is not hard and things went to hell after you lost someone who you loved,someone who still got someone who loves or loves him,things and life are not 'too bad' for them.
this is a great song, especially if you can relate to it!!
I can totally relate to this song. A lot of people can because it can apply to a lot of different situations, whether someone died, a mate left you, or your parents split on you.

I heard an interview about this song. Chad refused to send the CD to his father because he was afraid of how he'd react to this song, but his father loved it apparently. It's sad..but yeah, a lot of people can relate to this.
