F Train Lyrics

traveled on the f train down the
people press and crowd they start to fade like footprints worn away
only stop and still i'm waiting
a thousand faces look the same everyone
a thousand different names
they come on two by two people fade as people do
came here of my own volition
could be my decision
could be
we may still get by
we may still get by

wandered down on avenue a
the coffee shops the sweet cache
of thoughts and words and laughter gone
never ending stream of what you've
known so long and long ignored
don't think so hard just smoke your cigarette
and fade off into blue
cause people fade as people always do

consequence comes crashing in
the scars and scrapes and scratches
all the memories died so long ago
time is up but still i'm waiting
came here of my own volition
could be indecision
could be
we may still get by
we may still get by

This song really hits hard for me right now. I'm in love with a girl. I gave her my number on a subway and I didn't hear from her for years and years. Suddenly she posts a craigslist ad about me, and we found each other again. She's absolutely amazing. I just feel like we belong together. I don't want her to fade away like the song says.

Memory

@Drebb I can only hope she has not faded❤️. David Ushers music is amazing I particularly love the little songs album.

I don't know if anyone's been to New York City before but this song sort of reminds me when I'm waiting at Grand Central for a train or for a friend or whatever---just all the people, and everything going by in a blur.

"cause people fade as people always do"

"we may still get by"

"never ending stream of what you've known so long and long ignored"

Just beautiful. One of my favorite David Usher songs. Really realizes the insignificance of ONE person amongst so many people/things around us.
