I think of this song as after a relationship which was lived so deeply, so much deep as you only focus on one person and noone else is in your life. now that that person is gone, you just try to find new people, but it just doesnt feel the same.
i think this song is about a person who has depression or anxiety disorder and can't trust other people with himself. he probably also has SAD, which is why he hates autumn. i think it's a lot like myself... or how i was. because it was so hard to trust people after being hurt.
