"Whenever I Breathe Out, You Breathe In (Positive/Negative)" as written by and Isaac Brock Eric Judy....
Hey, haven't seen you around in a while
I didn't go to work for a month
I didn't leave my bed for eight days straight
I haven't hung out with anyone
'Cause if I did, I'd have nothing to say
I didn't feel angry or depressed
I didn't feel anything at all
I didn't want to go to bed

And I didn't want to stay up late
When you're living your life, well, that's the price you pay
Whenever I breath out, you're breathing it in
Whenever I speak out, you're speaking out
I didn't go to work for a month
I didn't leave my bed for eight days straight
I haven't hung out with anyone
'Cause if I did, I'd have nothing to say

General CommentDamn this is a relatable song. I agree with most of the comments I've read here: it's about an emotional state that is not quite depression, but is not normality either. It is what you feel when ignorance, naivety, and sadness have all been stripped away, yet you are left with nihilistic feelings. Those feelings are not identifiable with sadness, but rather with boredom and a mild but perpetual pessimism. You are not angry, you are not depressed, you don't want experience to end in sleep but you also don't want to deal with the melancholy of staying up late and the consequences that it brings. You don't feel anything, but you recognize that this is the price of living (unless you delude yourself with religion or limitless love, et cetera.). Certainly I have lived this.
