Expendable Youth Lyrics
Gun down cold on a raw deal
Home turf my battlefield
In no one's way caught in a crossfire
Stray bullets can kill
Expendable youths
Fighting for possession
Having control the principle obsession
Rivalry and retribution
Death the only solution
Injured soul lies on the ground
Head blown off face down
Lying in a pool of blood
An accidental death homicide
Expendable youths
Fighting for possession
Having control the principle obsession
Rivalry and retribution
Death the only solution
Struggling to survive
The drug induced warfare
To have control and principle obsession
Expendable youth fighting for possession
Violence is only a friend

I think it's about how kids who grow up in these really violent, decomposing, careless environments grow up thinking that they have nothing better to do that fight and kill each other ... with the whole gang thing. That mentality just gives all of its members this idea of being expendable, because you're part of something that only exists to be beligerent and disrespectful and destroy things.
its about gang violence and this song kicks ass
this came out in the late 80's when gangs were most hostile especially in the LA area before the riots. Cops were 'learning the ropes' of gang warfare. this song was decorated from that era, which sadly exists to this day.
ya.....this song is about inner city violence, racism in gangs, gang wars, drug deals, drive by's, all that crime shit and hate.
Great riffage to this song...nice hard solo too.

Hmm i thought it may be about a draft or something close to the meaning of Disposeable Heros by Metallica
I always thought it was about war and the draft as ZYKLON-B said. Now that I read what you guys say, makes more sense that its about gang wars and shit. Bad ass song though, love the "...Head blown off face down..." part.
what does Araya say before the leads kick in? Is it "fight ring you motherfucker"?
I'm pretty sure it's "fighting you motherfuckers"
