Everything Lyrics

find me here
and speak to me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
you are the light
that's leading me
to the place
where I find peace again

you are the strength
that keeps me walking
you are the hope
that keeps me trusting
you are the life
to my soul
you are my purpose
you're everything

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this yeah

you calm the storms
and you give me rest
you hold me in your hands
you won't let me fall
you still my heart
and you take my breath away
would you take me in
take me deeper now

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

cause you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

you're all I want
you're all I need
you're everything
everything

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

and how can I
stand here with you
and not be moved by you
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this
would you tell me
how could it be
any better than this

i think that this song, although a lot less popular than "hanging by a moment," is much better. although the beat is slower, and the lyrics harder to follow, this is a great song. my favorite line is, by far,

"how can i stand here with you, and not be moved by you?"

i heard it first on "Smallville" and i have been trying to find it for a while now. i just downlaoded it and you have got to hear it. the emotion that they put into the song is the majority of the meaning. you know that whoever he is singing to, is the person that he cares about most in the world

Totally agree. This song is almost epic compared with "hanging by a moment".

Although, both of them are great!

Personally, I don't think this song has a religious meaning...but I do must agree with FlyGir195 saying that whoever is this song dedicated...eh/she must be really proud and feel lucky (I guess it's a "she")

=)

fu I'm a complete je with my english...

well i hate to start an insane thread about religion like they do on creed sites, but this song is all about his relationship with God. "how can i stand here with you and not be moved by you" is asking how anyone can not be affected by God's awesomeness, not a girls, sorry. If you listen again you'll see what i'm talking about and it makes the song even better. it really is a great song about jason's faith and how it helps him through everything because he is his everything!

I really don't think that this song is about God. Its about a girl... You can't physically stand beside God, what he describes is something much more than a connection between man and God. its too beautiful to be about religion. It represents the most deepest, profound love between man and woman,,

"How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you" Ive experienced this feeling, when u simpy stand beside your boyfriend* and be so in love with him and so in awe of him and how he makes you feel that it moves you completely....

Much more than a relationship between a man and God? There's nothing more than a relationship between a man and God....nothing bigger or better. A man's relationship with a woman or a woman's with a man is nothing compared to their relationship with God.

This is an amazing, amazing song.

Well, I guess if you're not religious, nor believe in God, like me, then what you just said, Chassant Ame, would make no sense. How is it even possible to have a relationship with God, even if you do believe in him? I'm sorry, but I guess it takes a religious person to know a religious person (takes one to know one.) I'm with HippyHippyShake on this one.

This song is about God, there is no arguement, he has said in many interviews that "Lifehouse" is a "Christian" band, he wrote this song about God and what God does in him and to him. All of you that have this song as a song between you and your partner, that's great, but just know that it was God that put you two together and that without him, you two would have never met.

"Steadlydrowning" I know how you're feeling and although you may not believe me, I really do, just hang in there and things will be okay, I'll be praying for you.

Yes, I suppose the song does have a lot of vague Biblical references.

But, the funny thing about songs for God is that you can change the pronoun "He, Him, His," and change them to "She, Her, Her," and not have to change any lyric of the song..

.. and vice versa.

Maybe this song is about God. But, to me, it's the perfection I can find in the beauty of another human being. It also details the hesitation of falling into another relationship, despite the beauty that person can make you feel. You don't want to fall again, but "How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you?"

This song is so powerful. It cannot be intended for a girl, it had to be about God. Only God can give you the peace of mind he is talking about in this song.

clearly you have never really been in love.

Clearly you have never been in love with Jesus

this could be about god, but this is exactly how my love makes me feel, he hit the words right on like he was reading my mind when he wrote this song. it is possible, Clearly none of you have been in True Love.

it also could be with god, i agree. but it can work for both.

To me this song isn't about god everyone can have their own interpretation. I love this song though it's a little slow for me. It's me & this guy's song that I love a lot. It just has the best lyrics for a love song... You can think of it as a god song though if you want. I can't I have no religion.

i honestly dont believe this song is about God. like i can see where you might get that but i just dont think hes singing about God.

Song Meaning

I don't like songs about God. I like the love and happiness you feel when you are loved by another. And this song says that to me. "you hold me in your hands you won't let me fall you still my heart and you take my breath away would you take me in take me deeper now" This line is saying being in the arms of a loved one. Not an invisible being that you can't touch.

I hate to make anyone mad, but to me, the whole "No Name Face" CD has nothing to do with God. Yes, I understand AND respect that Lifehouse is a Christian Rock group, but to me, their songs have everything to do with relationships (most of them depressing). This whole CD has helped me through an extremely upsetting relationship, and I continue to listen to it today, almost a year later. "Everything" represents my feelings toward my (ex) boyfriend when he couldn't understand how I was feeling. "HOW CAN I STAND HERE WITH YOU, AND NOT BE MOVED BY YOU?" was (to me) me trying to make him see how special he was to me.

I hate it how everyone get's so angry at one another over the meaning of this song. We all have different interpretations don't we? I think people need to accept that.

I personally don't agree that it has to do with religion, but I guess I'm saying that because I'm not a very religious person. Without fully analysing the lyrics, when I listen to this I believe it is a love song. "You're all I want, you're all I need. You're everything." Although that could be addressing God, I see it as more of a guy talking to a girl he is in love with.

It's not a song about loss or God. It's just as the lyrics describe. It's a love that means everything. It's a love that lasted for years upon years, yet every time they see each other, they just fall all over again. And the song is sung with such pure-hearted feeling that you swear it has some deeper meaning to it. It really doesn't. He's singing from his heart. It's really your choice who this is dedicated to, but I feel as if these words will only ever be spoken and sung so purely to a lover. The person he truly loves.
