On the Bound Lyrics
All my life is on me now
Hail the pages turning
And the future's on the bound
Hell don't know my fury
You're all I need, you're all I need
You're all I need, you're all I need
You're all I need, you're all I need
You're all I need and maybe some faith would do me good
I don't know what I'm doing, don't know, should I change my mind? I can't decide, there's too many variations to consider
No thing I do don't do no thing but bring me more to do, it's true, I do imbue my blue unto myself, I make it bitter
Baby, lay your head on my lap one more time
Tell me you belong to me
Baby, say that it's all gonna be alright
I believe that it isn't
You're all I need, you're all I need
You're all I need, you're all I need
You're all I need, you're all I need
You're all I need and maybe some faith would do me good
And maybe some faith would do me good and maybe some faith would do me good
Hail the pages turning
And the future's on the bound
Hell don't know my fury
You're all I need, you're all I need
You're all I need, you're all I need
You're all I need and maybe some faith would do me good
No thing I do don't do no thing but bring me more to do, it's true, I do imbue my blue unto myself, I make it bitter
Tell me you belong to me
Baby, say that it's all gonna be alright
I believe that it isn't
You're all I need, you're all I need
You're all I need, you're all I need
You're all I need and maybe some faith would do me good
And maybe some faith would do me good and maybe some faith would do me good

I believe the key to this song is "maybe some faith would do me good". The song is about the fact that she is a pessimist and always thinks the worst and even when she finds something or someone good she can't completely be happy because she's always expecting it to go bad eventually. It's about the fear that things will always turn out bad for her.
I think the crux of this song is..
"Baby, say that it's all gonna be alright I believe that it isn't"
She's asking for faith but it might not be enough to exorcise her doubt.
a tough time in life. times flying by but shes staying in one place cuz she cant decide. she needs some faith to start going with time
huh???, lol my explanation is simalar but maybe it's about her boyfriend moving on too fast for her to keep up...or maybe he's leaving her and she can't find anything to keep her going
I think it's just about how she's dependant on this person, but she has trouble believing in this person or herself and so she needs something else to help her through
Perhaps she has just really begun her life as a young adult and is disillusioned by the "real world." Her only saving grace is her guy. Unfortunately, her dependence on him is probably the worst thing for her in the long run.
i think this song is really about making a decision about something in her life. and she's worried the decision will be wrong and bring her more trouble, at the same time she wishes she could just not have to make a decision. and she wants this guy to help her and be all she needs, even if it's not true.
This song sounds frustrated to me. She's annoyed with herself because she wants to move forward but inner-torment and confusion is preventing her from doing anything productive. I think the verse about her boyfriend, and the chorus is just playing with the listener, - she's trying to convince herself that the one thing in her life that will keep her going is this guy. She thinks that if she's got him, then everything will follow.
I love the way she pushes her voice on the word "you're"... it's so powerful
love this song. she's trying to make it on her own in life instead of depending on other people
