This song is about a man who has so many choices in his life. He has come to a point where he can go in any directon (so all of a sudden I'm facing a raging river that passed me by do I turn around, do I turn my eye to the sun in the apex of the high noon I'm on a flatbed yellow pick up underneath a half moon ) The second stanza is this man telling someone that if there going to take the risk of this path they should go with them now. The chorus then comes (but before I know it I'm going down this itty bitty river in a boat a little bigger than a bath tub my bones begin to shiver 'cause I'm aching to deliver this water that I must give her can I get some ) this means that the man has nothing to start with (boat no bigger than a bath tub) his bones begin to shiver cause hes waiting to deliver this water that I must give her) this is talking about how the man is so anxious with his choice to go find (this girl) girlfriend maybe, and he wants his choice to work out right in the end. Then the stanza with (down by the railway station people moving a new direction take a ticket from who you can drive that train) this tops off the meaning of endless roads of possibilities. tell me what you think

This song kind of reminds me of starting college or entering some other new stage in your life, ie graduating college, starting a new carreer, etc. Everyone else is passing this person by and they already know which way they want to go but this person doesnt but at least he realizes he needs to figure it out soon. Thise person also has some distractions like the "black tie bomb shell out of bombay" but by the end he has got on his way and is ready o reach where hes going and deliver all he can to the world. Tell me what you think.

I'm most likely completely wrong, this is my first post, but to me some parts of this song sound a little like a guy in love or in a relationship at least. "she was a black-tie bomb shell out of Bombay she was easy on the eyes so I had nothing' to say she said take the water to the eprechaun man you got till the bell rings three, do you understand a little piece of me wants to go I don't know turn around what do I do don't know ding dong ding that's the bell" - this sounds to me like a girl wants him to do something and hes not sure if he wants to or not, then when teh bell rings his time is up and hes still not sure what to do, but he has to decide. i love the line 'i know you know i know i dont know you very well' haha oh well, thats what i think, im probably wrong though, but either way, dispatch is still amazing!

this song is so fun to sing! I'm sure there's meaning in this song, as every other dispatch song, but I never really knew it. I agree with miff1025.

this is the song that got me into dispatch. it's awesome.

as for meanings, i basically agree with everyone. however, at the end they do say 'ride that train' which i would guess to mean that once you've driven your life (train) in the right direction you can kind of ride it and enjoy the benefits of your work.
