Floods Lyrics

A dead issue (a dead issue)
Don't wrestle with it (don't wrestle with it)
Deaf ears are sleeping (deaf ears are sleeping)
A guilty bliss (a guilty bliss)
So inviting (let me in)
Nailed to the cross

I feel you, relate to you
Accuse you
Wash away us all
Take us with the floods

Then throughout the night
They were raped and executed (then throughout the night)
(They were raped and executed)
Cold hearted world

Your language unheard of (your language unheard of)
The vast sound of tuning out (the vast sound of tuning out)
The rash of negativity (the rash of negativity)
Is seen one sidedly (one sidedly)
Burn away the day

The nervous, the drifting
The heaving
Wash away us all
Take us with the floods

Then throughout the day
Mankind played with grenades (then throughout the day)
(Mankind played with grenades)
Cold hearted world

And at night
They might bait the pentagram (and at night)
(They might bait the pentagram)
Extinguishing the sun

Wash away man
Take him with the floods

Die...
Die..

Flood (flood)
Flood (flood)

To me, this song is about being deeply depressed over something you've done and can't deny and just cannot hide from, and wanting everything to just be washed away, all your suffering, all your enemies, all your loved ones, everything.

My Opinion

This is one of my favorite songs. It has a good vibe to it when you're listening to it. I like the outro solo. It's cool.

@Floods420 that fucking outro makes me cry, I don't care what anyone says that shit moves me and I know I cant hear more because he's dead RIP brother. I agree with you 100 ·/.

This is one of those songs that just ends too soon for me. I really would have liked to see some sort of guitar epic here, because the overall feel of the song is just tremendous. Really emotive playing at the end.

@jules4099 The middle of the song is pretty epic

I really didnt like the song on my first listen, but when that ending solo kicked in and you hear the subtle rain in the background OH MY GOD!!! what a moment that is i just was compelled to that ending solo. Its so beautifully played by Dimebag R.I.P. one of the best pieces of music i have heard in a looooong timme baby!! yeh i agree with arm this song represents a flood ending makind kinda like TOOLS AENEMA, the ending solo to me represents the corrupt world ending and finally we have reached peace and harmony. Whatver it is its just amazing killer tune

This song is def about judgment day....but i think at the end it is like a new day is coming and the rain almost represents purification. Dimebag is a fuckin beast

That was voted the 17th best solo of all time. One of my top five Pantera songs, also.

I think it was 15th best solo of all time? Either way should have been higher. I love the build up to the solo, it sends chills down my spine. Look at a tab for this song, seems pretty simple untill you get to the solo, then you might as well forget it, no sense in trying to play it ;)

its not THAT hard damn haha i learned it in about an hour
