Mankind - proud conqueror and king
swings its flag of primal glory to the winds
Titans of the power-myth that failed
Neanderthal hunger for the flesh of war so frail
So weak, so hollow-minded
the primat flock responds
the jester race submits
For each day of war is a failure for man,
enslaved to her mordial genes
Illusions bleed from their fetid cores
bent to their rotten extremes
We, the plague of Terra Firma,
nature´s grand and last mistake
plant the poisoned seed of cancer,
set the severed fruits awake
Burning like frozen relics
in god´s archaic graveland
Burn the visionaire
Kill the ideologies
Mankind must die
The doves and the angels return to their graves
with flames on their pestilent wings
while mushroom-clouds haunt their virginwhite skies
to rape their utopian dreams
Living the last days of evolution´s end
from the nest of humanity, the graveland vultures rend
swings its flag of primal glory to the winds
Titans of the power-myth that failed
Neanderthal hunger for the flesh of war so frail
the primat flock responds
the jester race submits
enslaved to her mordial genes
Illusions bleed from their fetid cores
bent to their rotten extremes
nature´s grand and last mistake
plant the poisoned seed of cancer,
set the severed fruits awake
Burning like frozen relics
in god´s archaic graveland
Kill the ideologies
Mankind must die
with flames on their pestilent wings
while mushroom-clouds haunt their virginwhite skies
to rape their utopian dreams
from the nest of humanity, the graveland vultures rend

Something about this song turns me off. I think it's just the basic beat that I don't particularily like. It's o.k though.
I dunno doomsoldier, this is a great song lyrically and guitar-wise aswell, especially the end lines "Living the last days of evolution´s end ; from the nest of humanity, the graveland vultures rend". Insanely heavy
This song is about how everyone needs to go die.
Oh man this song rocks! Kinda reminds me of Slipknot's People=Shit for some reason, though this song is ten times better.. Mankind is truly a plague upon the earth.
very much toward the mankind=plague upon the natural world, taking all nature's resources and abusing them to the utmost... if only evil oil companies, corperate executives, and otherwise bad people could listen to in flames... i wonder if they'd say: "oh, now i understand" the narrator does indeed want everyone to die, as far as i can tell. it speaks of all mankind's mistakes and denounces them... that is all... //Jotun
It's theme is that of most other In Flames songs, how the human race will keep advancing technologically and such, and it will eventually lead to our doom. Too bad the government wouldn't listen to In Flames...
We, the plague of Terra Firma, nature´s grand and last mistake
one of my favourite lines
WIsh Anders still growled like he does in this song
