Everything Counts (Depeche Mode cover) Lyrics
The handshake seals the contract
from the contract there's no turning back
The turning point of a career
in Korea being insincere
The holiday was fun-packed
the contract, still intact
The grabbing hands grab all they can
all for themselves - after all
The grabbing hands grab all they can
all for themselves - after all
It's a competitive world
Everything counts in large amounts
The graph on the wall
tells the story of it all
Picture it now
see just how
the lies and deceit gained a little more power
Confidence - taken in
by a suntan and a grin
The grabbing hands grab all they can
all for themselves - after all
The grabbing hands grab all they can
all for themselves - after all
It's a competitive world
Everything counts in large amounts
from the contract there's no turning back
The turning point of a career
in Korea being insincere
The holiday was fun-packed
the contract, still intact
all for themselves - after all
The grabbing hands grab all they can
all for themselves - after all
It's a competitive world
Everything counts in large amounts

because this is a cover i think it's more of what it means in the context of the album. when martin lee gore wrote it, it definately did mean what ac666 said. i mean... duh... but in the context of the album it comes directly after episode666. because of this i think it means the same thing, cept on a larger scale. mankind got screwed, as did the world ^_^
this song was the perfect choice for the end of the record...we finally realized we were wrong and it was our mistake/fault but it was all too late, then whoracle is the soothing calm of the earth with no humans
Depeche Mode cover, far better than the original.
Damn right. Martin Gore was never the most cryptic of lyricists, it's easy to understand. It's about Depeche Mode being fucked up the ass by their record company back in the 80s.
meaning : It's a competitive world Everything counts in large amounts
but still though its cover this song is fuckin awsome
