Episode 666 Lyrics
Welcome here, the squirrel-wheel begins
fasten the left hand belts
Remember not to think too much
and your trip will be numbingly pleasant
Non-caring is the easiest way
but to secure a passage to the 2nd plane
you have to complete level one
Their dead-smile lips turn on their TV
while urban gravestones scrape the skies
Rising over marionette cities and marionette skies
This is episode 666
destination chaos
Each and all an actor blind
fasten the left hand belts
Remember not to think too much
and your trip will be numbingly pleasant
but to secure a passage to the 2nd plane
you have to complete level one
Their dead-smile lips turn on their TV
while urban gravestones scrape the skies
Rising over marionette cities and marionette skies
destination chaos
Each and all an actor blind

I think this song is about how the media numbs our senses. The 666 reference is not necessarily demonic. It's more about how we allow ourselves to get wrapped up in everything we see and hear on television, radio, video games. These things collectively become our anti-God, drawing us into their debauchery. Of course, I could be way off. These guys don't even speak English as their first language. But this album is absolutely incredible. There's no filler to be found. Every song is worthy of praise and chock-full of musicianship.
666 reffered to "the beast" which, arguable, popular media has become. Perhaps it's use could be an allution to the evil and unstobable nature of media?
I think it's about people that don't think for themselves and are to lazy. People that could easily be controlled by the media. The guitars are great in this song. It's a very intellectual death metal song.
I personally do not think this has nothing to do with a hypothetical Satan, don't get me wrong, it might be about the powerful media, but all of their well written and performed songs have the allusion of evil and death.
The guys at the top are most right i would think. In Flames doesnt even speak english as their first language but they do a good job, There songs are very symbollic and hard to understand and the singer growls alot making it hard to understand but an amazing band and wish they would tour Canada

I'm commenting 11 years later, just to say that that must have been the most incredible show in the world. I'm so jealous.

This Song Was The First In Flames Song Ive Ever Heard, And I Was Very Impressed. In Flames Doesnt Get The Recognization that they deserve. I Moved to this small town and nobody knew who In Flames was. Soon After, In Flames was voted #1 Band in Our Highschool. Now, Go Forth! And Spread The Word Of In Flames!
