Jester Script Transfigured Lyrics
Cre-age-aeon
new beginnings held in infinite vacuum
Biotronic test-worlds free of inscription
devoid of the echoes of man
noble cyborg savage
In cold ceremonial perfection
more radiant than the sum of suns
with each and every attribute
of animal, machine and man
Dystopia Electro-Heart
the grotesque and the linear
took one final giant blow
into the Ram of what is us
In cold ceremonial perfection
more radiant than the sun of suns
with each and every attribute
of animal, machine and man
Installing awaiting the restoration of unsequenced chaos
We´ve only seen the outlines of the beginning
and this core, the slowly moving raptor
will make the very notion of Hell
seem celestial in comparison
new beginnings held in infinite vacuum
Biotronic test-worlds free of inscription
devoid of the echoes of man
noble cyborg savage
more radiant than the sum of suns
with each and every attribute
of animal, machine and man
the grotesque and the linear
took one final giant blow
into the Ram of what is us
more radiant than the sun of suns
with each and every attribute
of animal, machine and man
and this core, the slowly moving raptor
will make the very notion of Hell
seem celestial in comparison

Thematically, this is in keeping with the rest of Whoracle (and the Jester race) for that matter; it is about humanity bringing doom upon itself. Specifically it is about individuals becoming cogs in 'the machine' and losing your humanity. Stellar song. It makes me want to have Jesper's babies...
'We´ve only seen the outlines of the beginning and this core, the slowly moving raptor will make the very notion of Hell seem celestial in comparison'
I think the entire CD of whoracle talks about the future of the human race and how its going towards a downwrd spiral. They talk about the birth of artificial intellegence and cyborgs and things like that and mention things like genetic engineering and things like that. I think the main point of all of this is that people will become too dependent on the technology in thw world and humans will become "outdated"
The bridge "Installing awaiting the restoration of unsequenced chaos" makes perfect sense. He's waiting for the world to be restored to its former unsequenced chaos-as in, he's waiting for the day when the world will again be unpredictable and chaotic, as opposed to automated and mundane.
Dray said it. it's about the end of the world being brought about by machines making it so that humans don't need to do anything. i also agree with VivaHate95. the album is definately about that. great song too, very unique. you gotta hand it to Jesper on the writing of this song, and Niklas on the lyrics, for that matter...
This is possibly my fav. In Flames song. Just incredible...
I would have to agree with you, this is also my favorite In Flames song. I'll make a stab at the meaning of this song from what it actually says. First verse speaks of the new age of creating cyborgs. Lacking human qualities, they are perfect creations. This extends into the chorus about the ceremonial perfection nonsense. The second verse describes a horrible world where the ugly and narrow minded, perhaps the cyborgs themselves destroying all memory (RAM) of human kind. The following bridge puzzles the hell out of me. Chaos should be unsequenced. Installing things such as machines? Cyborgs? Awaiting the restortion of chaos probably refers to the Big Bang theory that before the universe was created there was nothing but chaos, then all of a sudden BANG! I guess they are waiting for the end of the world. Don't worry about this section... I'm not. Now for the meaning of all this nonsense. Sounds to me like they are against technology, as is the case with many of their other songs. Our society has become so automated that eventually we won't have a reason to live and will be 'formated' from all memory. We've only seen the beginning. Perhaps they are talking about all those movies we've come to know and love such as Terminator... we've all seen Terminator haven't we? I'm not sure what core they're talking about, nor what slowly moving bird of prey they speak of. But the last line I enjoy the most. Apparently technology will be about the destruction of the earth, something far far far worse than hell. I will make the very notion of Hell seem celestrial in comparison.
can a song really be THIS good?
in flames, dream theater, and metallica all share the magic of incredible songwriting...pantera and down as well.
jj 20, can't forget about tool too...anyways, this song about made me cry, it's so beautiful it's amazing...im guessing it's about the origin of man, at least that's my first impression. anways...rock on in flames.
Most beautiful song ever written. Ever. I've got nothing more to say.
