Coerced Coexistence Lyrics
I´ll take you on a ride
as a part-owner to my pain
our ideals they collide
coerced coexistence
I faught the world today - postpone my birth again
we stumble on and one - but bound to die alone
pine- I´m selling my soul today
pine- I need some sympathy
this infiltrates my brain
"in the sunshine the sun is mine"
pitiless wanderer
close your eyes and bow your head
grotesque thoughts in a line
threw my wings into the lazing sun
smile stretced on old trees
eternal grining jester masque
don´t hurt a fly they all sing
we´re just ants in a great big play
commercialize-infect-annihilate-progress
visualize-inhale-pretend-betray
as a part-owner to my pain
our ideals they collide
coerced coexistence
we stumble on and one - but bound to die alone
pine- I need some sympathy
"in the sunshine the sun is mine"
pitiless wanderer
close your eyes and bow your head
grotesque thoughts in a line
threw my wings into the lazing sun
smile stretced on old trees
eternal grining jester masque
we´re just ants in a great big play

one of the greatest intros of any in flames song. when people ask me for a good song, this one is one i suggest.
I agree, the intro to this song is quite amazing, one of my fav. In Flames songs
I think this song is about split personalities. The first verse says it all right there..."Ill take u on a ride, as part owner to my pain...Our ideals they collide, coerced coexistence..." The other part that makes me believe this is the line "We stumble on and on, but both bound to die alone..."
This is about difficulty co-existing with the world in general. It's about knowing you're right, but also knowing how painful it is to be on the outside. 'I'm selling my soul today' - an obvious nod to the conformity necessary to exist in this world.
Is it "pine" or "pain"? I agree with ac666, its about modern day commercialism stealing your soul and individuality, and conformism.
he says "pine", but since anders was not very good at english at that time he might just have misspelt "pain", though I think it's unlikely.
I think this song is about living in a society whose customs and lifestyle clashes with your own.
nah it is pine ,i guess he is the only one that knows what it means, this song kicks ass one of my fav
Pine means desire. To pine for something is to lust for something. f.ex "That parrot is pining for the fjords"
Are you sure pine doesn't mean "to grieve for", I can't find anywhere that ping relates to lust or desire?
