I don't know wha you ppl are talking to you.. the church doesn't steal from you.. you can choose to give offering it is not maditory.. I do agree with what the song is really about.. you can't jsut preach about how you should live but live it as well

in the booklet that comes with the "distance only makes the heart grow fonder" EP, it has the title for this and then in brackets this "(this is only our thoughts on organised religion)", its PTW's view on organised religion rather than a diss at god:)

I decided to read the lyrics to this song because the title caught my eye. the only thing i have to say from a christian perspective is that i think non christians expect christians to be perfect in every single aspect of their lives, which is impossible. there is no doubt in my mind that christians are hypocrites and when we have people like pat robertson and jerry faliwell representing us then of course christians are going to get a bad reputation. but its not about being perfect, its about being forgiven through grace and that is the core of christianity. you can make fun of me for putting in my two cents but the fact remains that most people are ignorant to what christianity is all about when it is about the relationship and not a bunch of legalistic "religious" crap where we just attend the services every sunday and say our prayers and go out and live a hypocritical lifestyle for the rest of the week. thats it.

i'm not trying to bag on anybody or breed hate or anything you know, but man XxhopesfallxX, you really come across as a jerk. no wonder people think that we christians are full of crap, because some of us really are. wow.

mourninghasbroken, money grubbers and theives you say? I find it odd how one news broadcast can set the world ablaze with people that think all the preists steal from their churches. Sorry to burst your fun filled bubble but most churches lose money because they give so much to charites in fact a lot of churches survive only on donations.

Christdriver, religon is a crutch. If it is a crutch then how are you walking? What you said Christianity helped us get through life when our legs were broke. So you pretty much just called the entire human race,including yourself, crippled which i agree. The entire human race is crippled and can not get anywhere until they find their "crutch". Well let me put it this way, the pedifiles are catholic and there are about 6 other dinominations so why bash Christianity through the catholics only. headinhands your the obvious idiot in this review. 4 different stories, my friend you are terribly confused. Those 4 stories were sritten by four seperate disciples describing their veiw on what happened. To those who dont understand what he is talking about his "stories" are the gospels of Mattew, Mark, Luke, and John. Also the bible is not misinterrprited its changed to bring it in a more modern day context. About the whole breeds hate and war thing you are correct. It breeds hate for the people that dont believe it because they cant understand it so they curse it and make fun of it and even start wars to kills those who follow it. Now about the war yeah Islam seems to be the bringer of war nowadays not religion in general. We never force this stuff down anyones throat EVER. Its just you people have gotten to the point that nowadays you feel even the mention of the word durign a conversation with someone is enough of a shove for you to point the finger at them and talk crap about their religion. this posting just shows me that PTW has the ability to stir up emotions. I really like PTW, but i think they need to be careful about finger pointing at religions. everyone has a view on the judeo/christian God (or no God), but just becuase you come up with emotional statements does not give you a truthful position to stand on. The Christian Church has stood for 2000 years. it has faced persecution, murder, injustice, crimes, and entire races agaisnt it. I really doubt that angry people writing a song will prove the lack of God. if you dont believe in water it doesnt mean water doesnt exist. and about hypocracy- isnt that what being human is?! just like Jesus said, "you without sin cast the first stone".

man... i hate it when being a Christian obviously makes you a "mindless sheep" because you obviously can't think for yourself and believe in God at the same time. I mean, because at least we've experienced something first-hand (i.e. Relationship with Jesus that we AS INDIVIDUAL THINKERS percieve our feelings to be), while people who support evolution (not to be confused with Natural selection) have never actually carbon-dated monkey fossils. Face it, if we Christians are "sheep" merely because we believe that intelligence does not corrupt nature (just because we are intelligent beings does not make us do what we do, dolphins are intelligent but they don't murder and faction themselves against other dolphins based on appearance or anything of the such. They just exist, harmonious in a sense with the balance of nature without humans, which destroy and pillage and basically have completely wrecked the Earth, leading me to the belief that the presence of a soul, which has been tainted through sin, drives us to think and basically choose whether we exert our true evil on the world or not), then you, not being a scientist or an archeologist but basically copy and paste facts from a textbook or website, are just as much a "sheep" or "tool" or whatever helps you sleep at night.

ha if only you knew...how false your claims are..im not a fan of this song..the music is ok but i think people have thier own opinions..but i do LOVE this band..mmmm
