Guardian Angel Lyrics
be my guard just for tonight, that is all i'm asking for
take me under your wing, i can't make it anymore
i am so full of fear, may you read a book to me
and when the shadows grow won't you stay with me
will you be my guard tonight. that is all i'm asking for
will you be my guard tonight, that is all i need to know
be my guard beside my bed, that is all i need to know
will you please hold my hand, don't you ever let it go
all the wonders of the world for a little second more
i can't speak but can't you see, it's your touch i'm crying for
will you be my guard tonight. that is all i'm asking for
will you be my guard tonight, that is all i need to know
be my guard just until dawn, when i can hear the birds again
i'm as helpless as can be, will you guard my little flame
if we never meet again, you shall always keep in mind
that you were my guard tonight, that you were my guard tonight
will you be my guard tonight. . .
take me under your wing, i can't make it anymore
i am so full of fear, may you read a book to me
and when the shadows grow won't you stay with me
will you be my guard tonight, that is all i need to know
will you please hold my hand, don't you ever let it go
all the wonders of the world for a little second more
i can't speak but can't you see, it's your touch i'm crying for
will you be my guard tonight, that is all i need to know
i'm as helpless as can be, will you guard my little flame
if we never meet again, you shall always keep in mind
that you were my guard tonight, that you were my guard tonight

Such a beautiful song . . . . Is it about a lover? Perhaps (as I think at 9pm, my 7 yr old's bedtime) a parent? Maybe even a stranger. It's about that need we all have for contact, for touch, for company. Sometimes, it doesn't even matter who it is, as long as there's someone there for you.
Similar in theme to Peter Gabriel's "Touch," but much bouncier.
By Phil Whalen
We wish to see We wish to know What’s the name of that star? How that ship got inside the bottle Is it true your father was a swan? What do you look like without any clothes? I want to look at you—all over I want to feel every part of you Gods demand a great deal
Do you want this peach?
Meanwhile, back at the ranch Both girl and beast Gassed out of their minds Laughing and scratching pockets Come on man. Have a jelly bean!
