It's your son or it's your daughter
Are my screams loud enough for you to hear me?
Should I turn this up for you?
Remembering everything you've said
This silence gets us nowhere
Gets us nowhere way too fast
I need someone here to help me
But you don't know how to listen
And let me make my decisions
remembering everything you've said
The silence gets us nowhere
Gets us nowhere way too fast
Me feel like I'm not a person
And I feel like I'm nothing but
You made me so do something
Cause I'm fucked up because you are
Need attention, attention you couldn't give
Remembering everything you've said
This silence gets us nowhere
Gets us nowhere way too fast
This song is my bloody theme song. I just wish I could get my Mom to listen, for once in 16 years, to what I'm actually saying. She never listens to what I'm truly saying. She always assumes that I'm going to make the wrong choices about my friends, girlfriends, jobs, dreams, EVERYTHING. She never trusts me, and I haven't done anything to break her trust, EVER. She just doesn't trust me, I guess, because of my musical choices. Staind is my all-time favorite band, but she still thinks I need to listen to "Good ole' Christian Music"... Bull. Staind makes me feel good, and, as long as it keeps me off of drugs, I'm stickin' with it... Anybody with me?
Roger Wilco:
I will not have a boss who doesn't care, because I am going to be self employed.
I will not have drugs for my wife to steal, because I will not need them in the first place.
I will not get evicted, because I wont be spending my rent money on drugs.
This REAL WORLD you preach is nothing but a sob story of your own failed future.
Stop taking it out on us.
another great song.
I read that this song is for the fans to show to their parents. And it's about what Staind is trying to say with their music.
this song is perfect for my mood. i just got back from the movies and my gf was a no show. anyone else wanna cry with me?
defanity one for the parents to trust there kids and let them be the way they want. Not to go and kill or rape but to express themselves.
I wish this song came out when I was younger, because I've felt that way so many times with my parents. I love how he could express that period in my life without ever realizing that he did. I'm sure there are kids right now who feel this way, and I hope that they can hear this song and know that they aren't the only ones that have been through this sort of situation.
This is like what I'm going through and I'd like my mother to hear it. I'm a big Staind fan, and Aaron has been through some shit and the only way he can take it out is through his music. "This song is for the kids. That's what it's all about."
Yeah, this is my song for my parents, they need to listen more!!
This song is one of the many out there that is against your parents. The speaker seems to be in a situation like mine, where your parents just don't listen or understand. The music and tone of the song is aggressive, and angry. It implies that no matter how loud you yell, they'll never hear you, so your feelings stay "locked inside my head". It's a great song.
