I now believe that this song is reflective of the abuse Brian experienced while growing up. The lines:
She smells of the sun and she's constantly saying that's it's all right, because lies sound so nice. And like soil to seed goes, casting my fears aside...
indicate his mother saying that everything will be alright. He wants to trust her so much, and he believes in her words. So when he moves on to the next part:
She says, "The satellite is coming". I pray the wrecking ball is waining She says, "The satellite is coming. It's come to take us home."
the "satellite" is his father. A satellite could be something that watches over us, or that is far away yet still influental. The "wrecking ball" is the abuse that comes with the arrival of his father, so Brian is praying that for once, the abuse will subside. His father is distant except in his abuse.
The verse:
Still smells of the sun and the light that brings healing is burning my eyes and the dark seems so nice and I'm choking on blessings that I can receive I hide.
indicate that he is so used to hiding from his father that when his mother draws him out of hiding, it almost is difficult for him to do so.
@thewhitepony33 where does one find this information on abuse?

I had the the most amazing opportunity to meet BT when he was passing out his tape after a rave in southern CA back in 1996.... he was so down to earth and amazing... but I digress...
I believe he is also from a fairly wealthy family, and a well connected family on the east coast of old family bloodlines.... I think he knows thing that we do not, meaning the "working class" .... BUT
I think Brian has intense love for us, the human race, just listen to his music...
The song "Satellite" is about the Planet X that is racing towards our planet to destroy us, and Brian is warning us about it.
The song is so surreal sounding, it crawls inside your subconscious... listen with your 3rd eye, you will feel and might see what Brian is trying to tell you with his amazing compassion and ability to communicate through music, sound, rhythm, whatever you wanna call it.... much love, I PRAY THE WRECKING BALL IS WANING
@wreckingbawl I agree with you completely. I've always believed the pronoun "She" in the lyric to be referring to Nancy Lieder. Eyes open, no fear. Much love to you as well. PLUR abides

god im not a huge techno/trance whatever fan but BT is amazing, he has a way of like thewhite pony says putting you into your own little world and this is one of his best songs. its so tranquil, it reminds me of the movie driven when estella warren is swimming. god shes hot
So this is probably wrong, but here s my interpretation
This song is about weed.
Plants grow in the sun, weed smells. Getting high makes you feel better, but doesn't fix anything. - lies soil to seed- plant references casting my fears aside- medicating your ills satellite is coming - pass to the left wrecking ball is waning - feeling better come to take us home - you're baked
the light that brings healing , is burning my eyes - smoke from the burning dark seems so nice ~ enjoying your surroundings choking on blessings ~ coughing on smoke
etc etc
I wish I had a better interpretation , but that is the one I have.
this is such a good song... its enough to put you in your own world when you're listening to it, because of all the layers of sound and what not...
true. i wasn't really into techno/trance until i discovered BT. he's got to be one of the best artists out there!
This is surely one of bt's most beautiful and awe inspiring songs he's ever released. tis my favorite off of movement.
My favorite song. Ever. So beautiful.
