The way I found T. Rex was when these lyrics were quoted in a book I read as the song the main character would want to play in her funeral. I think that's perfect.
I just got a copy of Electric Warrior, and this is definitely one of the favourites. Relatively simple riff and song structure compared to the rest of the album, but certainly beautiful.
Marc Bolan's voice, to me, sounds halfway between Bowie's glammy, slightly nasal tone and Lou Reed's wispy indie voice. I love both of them. Awesome.
