I'm not the one who's so far away
When I feel the snakebite enter my veins
Never did I want to be here again
And I don't remember why I came

Candles raise my desire
Why I'm so far away
No more meaning to my life
No more reason to stay
Freezing feeling, breathe in, breathe in
I'm coming back again

I'm not the one who's so far away
When I feel the snakebite enter my veins
Never did want to be here again
And I don't remember why I came

Hazing clouds rain on my head
Empty thoughts fill my ears
Find my shade by the moonlight
Why my thought aren't so clear
Demons dreaming, breathe in, breathe in
I'm coming back again

I'm not the one who's so far away
When I feel the snakebite enter my veins
Never did want to be here again
And I don't remember why I came

I'm not the one who's so far away
When I feel the snakebite enter my veins
Never did want to be here again
And I don't remember why I came

I'm not the one who's so far away
When I feel the snakebite enter my veins
Never did want to be here again
And I don't remember why I came

I'm not the one who's so far away
When I feel the snakebite enter my veins
Never did want to be here again
And I don't remember why I came

Voodo, voodo, voodo, voodo
Voodo, voodo, voodo, voodo

So far away
I'm not the one who's so far away
I'm not the one who's so far away
I'm not the one who's so far away

I have to go along with the heroin idea.

"I'm not the one who's so far away when I feel the snakbite enter my vein" (People say that addicts and users are so distant and pulled away from everyone, but when that needle bites your vein and you get that high, everyone else seems far away because you are lost in the high)

"Never did I wanna be here again, and I don't remember why I came" (when you're addicted, you have dreams, hopes, and plans of quitting. you never wanna go back yo it again, because it is destroying your life, but you keep finding your way back to it over and over)

"Candles raise my desire" (the flame reminds him of the flame used to heat the spoon) "no more meaning to my life, no more reason to stay" (when your life is consumed by an addiction, there is really nothing left of it any way, so there is no point going on that way)

I won't go on into the whole song, but I think I've made my point. Once again, just MY INTERPRETATION, you are all more than welcome to your own opinions.

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

The Spy

Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there?

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
