I love this song! For me she's just saying: "MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS! HAVE A LIFE INSTEAD OF JUDGING MINE!"
I love this song! What it says to me is that once you realize that you have a choice, it's not so bad. I felt that way after my ex-boyfriend dumped me and I realized I was better off without him because he had some control over me before and he abused me. I felt set free after I realized how lucky I was to be without him. I had a choice and I began to live life for me and now I am happily married to my best friend.
i like this song, i think it speaks for freedon of choice (obviously) and that' you're not helpless to change your own life.

Ithink this cd is much more optomisic compaired to the one before this She's just realizing why the hell did i waist my time trying to build my world on you. There's a real world out there with real problems, and yes, i am now capable of making my own desisions. ( sry i suck at spelling lol)

did you see the video? Paparazzi, paparazzi, paparazzi! And they keep on photographing Dolores (this is the singer). She's in a cage and is singing. Later she has a camera and she is photographing the paparazzi now! Ironic! I think The lines "You must have nothing more with your time to do There's a war in Russia and Sarajevo, too" are written for paparazzi, you may not know without seeing it. It's fun to see it. I advise you to do it.

All true. But the refrain of "Free to Decide" makes this song about more than just a middle finger to the busybodies. She's actively refusing to participate in the stupidity.

The video scared the crap out of me...only at the part when she was wearing that skin coloured suit thing.I paused it and I was like "OMFGSHE'SNUDE"
well delores is very smart. most of us let people decide things for us but delores depicts the perfect thing to do in the video that wag speaks of. just like the title of the song, we're free to decide.
