AMAMZING
Maiden tried all kind of musical things in this song. Like short pauses before plummeting back into the song. Good song. Can't say I like the ending. Kinda rushed and sounds bad, in my opinion, though I'm open to persuasion (it'll take one LOAD of persuasion).
This song is about a stalker who finally goes too far I think.
I think that it's about paranoya and fear...
Yeah, it's basically about a stalker, rapist, etc. that might be stalking or looking for people to attack...or about the fear of not knowing whom around you might be a stalker, rapist, etc....kind of like the song, although just like The Clansman, they could've shortened the song and it'd be much better since it gets pretty repetitive.
I love Maiden but this song sucks.
I believe in the "30 Years of the Beast" book, Steve mentioned that he wrote this about his difficulty making eye contact.
I think this song is warning people not to look at 'the small', because sensations transfer very quickly in a short time and when the sun goes down when that 'small' is reflecting on their truth they will have your presence in your mind and it might prove to be a drain for you. I only get this reading because of the use of the world 'stranger' and 'fool'. I don't think there is tooo much in this song.
