Running Free Lyrics

Just sixteen, a pickup truck, out of money, out of luck.
I've got nowhere to call my own, hit the gas, and here I go.

*Chorus*:
I'm running free yeah, I'm running free.
I'm running free yeah, Oh I'm running free.

Spent the night in an L. A. jail, and listened to the sirens wail.
They ain't got a thing on me, I'm running wild, I'm running free.

*Chorus*

Puller here at the Bottle Top, whiskey, dancing, disco hop.
Now all the boys are after me, and that's the way it's gonna be

*Chorus*

one of my favorite maiden songs! it's about living life on the edge, and about the restrictions of being a teen, yet rebelling against it and not caring.

about a person who lives on the edge and likes it. one of iron maidens first hits, it was there first single released 23rd febuary 1980- reached 34 in the charts.

it was also eddies first appearance on artwork it shows him at an alley with a broken bottle chasing this guy, eddie started out as just a japanese kabuki mask at first which on stage which would spill out this red liquid on to clive burrs head, derek riggs gave it a body and eddie is now a heavy metal icon.

if you have this song listen to the guitar solo in the middle of it, it sounds like something bill and ted or waynes world would do during there films!

So reminds me of 18 and Life, the theme of this song. I just love that drum intro and the bassline.

I've always wondered - does the last line imply that he's a rent-boy? I'm not trolling, just wondering.
