see the sun drip from the sky
mascara stains clouding your eyes
slowly the raindrop falls
see the rain fall from the day
the fire escape is leading the way
somewhere a taxi calls
you're leaving girl
to seal your fate
leaving girl
to run, run way
to see the sun
to see the light
leaving girl, live your life
I see your love has slipped from your life
The winter sun and suburban skies
Are calling your name this time
I see the rain
Fall from the day
The fire escapes the blues and the greys
Will always remain the same
So you're leaving girl
to seal your fate
leaving girl to run, run away
To see the sun to see the light
So you're leaving girl
to seal your fate
And see the world and run, run away
To see the sun to see the light
So you're leaving girl, to live your life
And live your life
So you're leaving girl
to seal your fate
to see the world and run, run away
To see the sun to see the light
So you're leaving girl to catch the plane
To see the world and run right away
To see the sun to see the light
So you're leaving girl to live your life
Live your life
mascara stains clouding your eyes
slowly the raindrop falls
the fire escape is leading the way
somewhere a taxi calls
to seal your fate
leaving girl
to run, run way
to see the light
leaving girl, live your life
The winter sun and suburban skies
Are calling your name this time
Fall from the day
The fire escapes the blues and the greys
Will always remain the same
to seal your fate
leaving girl to run, run away
To see the sun to see the light
So you're leaving girl
to seal your fate
And see the world and run, run away
To see the sun to see the light
So you're leaving girl, to live your life
And live your life
to seal your fate
to see the world and run, run away
To see the sun to see the light
So you're leaving girl to catch the plane
To see the world and run right away
To see the sun to see the light
So you're leaving girl to live your life
Live your life

I heard that this song was wrote for the lead singer of elastica, his girlfriend at the time. she left him for damon alburn, the lead singer of blur
this song has no mention of what she is leaving? it's sung in third person as well which adds a very nice touch. she's going to seal her fate, see the sun, to see and world and run, run away. i can only imagine that she's going off to uni or to a new town or job or travelling. i doubt that this osng is about a break up
