I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go
Walkin' with a dead man over my shoulder
I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go
Walkin' with a dead man over my shoulder

Waiting for an invitation to arrive
Goin' to a party where no one's still alive
Waiting for an invitation to arrive
Goin' to a party where no one's still alive

I was struck by lighting, walkin' down the street
I was hit by something last night in my sleep
It's a dead man's party who could ask for more?
Everybody's comin', leave your body at the door
Leave your body and soul at the door

Don't run away it's only me
Only me

I'm all dressed up, nowhere to go
Walkin' with a dead man (oh!) with a dead man
Ooh ooh, waitin' for an invitation to arrive
Ooh! Walkin' with a dead man, dead man (with a dead man)

I got my best suit and my tie
With a shiny silver dollar on either eye
I hear the chauffeur comin' to my door
Says there's room for maybe just one more

I was struck by lighting, walkin' down the street
I was hit by something last night in my sleep
It's a dead man's party, who could ask for more?
Everybody's comin', leave your body at the door
Leave your body and soul at the door

Don't run away it's only me
Don't be afraid of what you can't see
Don't run away it's only me (only me)
Don't be afraid of what you can't see

It's only me

I was struck by lighting, walkin' down the street
I was hit by something last night in my sleep
It's a dead man's party, who could ask for more?
Everybody's comin', leave your body at the door
Leave your body and soul at the door

Don't run away it's only me (only me)
Don't be afraid of what you can't see
Don't run away it's only me (only me)
Don't be afraid of what you can't see

It's only me
It's only me
Only me
It's only me
It's only me
Only me (only me)
It's only me
It's only me
It's only me
Ow!

General CommentIt's about drugs, a seemingly well-to-do person who has a hidden drug problem and who goes to a crack house to score.

(I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go/Walkin' with a dead man over my shoulder) Someone is trying to live a normal life, but they are feeling their addiction pulling at them.

(Waiting for an invitation to arrive/Goin' to a party where no one's still alive) Now they are waiting for a dealer to call or knock on the door with a location of a crack house where they can score. Crack houses are often occupied by crack whores on the edge of death.

(I was struck by lighting/Walkin' down the street/I was hit by something last night in my sleep) They are reminiscing about being high on chrystal meth. Lighting is a slang term for amphetamines. Drug use causes insomnia, which often leads back to getting high.

(It's a dead man's party/Who could ask for more) Everyone at the crack house is strung out and high, but at least they feel good.

(Everybody's comin'...Leave your body and soul at the door) This implies peer pressure and looking forward to walking up to the edge of death.

(Got my best suit and my tie/Shiny silver dollar on either eye) Someone has a normal life, but drugs have gotten a hold of them and they are hopelessly addicted.

(I hear the chauffeur comin' to the door/Says there's room for maybe just one more) The chauffer is the Grim Reaper and the addict has lost the battle and their life to drugs.
