Fly On A Windshield Lyrics

There's something solid forming in the air,
And the wall of death is lowered in Times Square.
No-one seems to care,
They carry on as if nothing was there.
The wind is blowing harder now,
Blowing dust into my eyes.
The dust settles on my skin,
Making a crust I cannot move in
And I'm hovering like a fly, waiting for the windshield on the freeway.

oh i LOVE this cd! it has the story written out in a normal way in the beginning, and the lyrics themselves are the story. its so awsome! in this part he was running from something that was taking over the city and it took him to like another place. no one else saw it, but he did, and it scared him so he just ran as fast as he could. it kind of means how you could have something you are running from or a problem in your life, but other people don't know. like... when you're sitting in class alone deep in thought and then you look around at the class and they are doing their own thing, some socializing and some doing work, some reading... we all have our own lives. and in his he's stuck going in one direction by habbit and all its doing is harming him.

the song really has a feel of an incoming storm, starting out quiet but then just blowing you over.

Excellent lyrics so far. Excellent album already, and I've only heard up to this song on the album.

These lyrics are incomplete though.

No the lyrics are pretty much all there. I'm guessing the part you think is missing are the lyrics from Broadway Melody of 1974. The CD (well remastered edition anyway) has the track length confused and puts most of the broadway melody song as this one, leaving the broadway melody as a 33 second instrumental.
