The antique sea
Hopes and fears are
All we ever see
We made a contract
In a field of snow
And he's saying
Out of the woods and trees
A trap's been laid
From out of the nighttime
Somebody screams
He's on his way somewhere
All like he's been nowhere
I don't know
Nobody knows
On a frozen floor
What do they want with me?
What do they want with me?
I don't know
Nobody knows
Nobody even tries
To find out what they want to know

These are the lyrics to 'Cries and Whispers'.
You're correct. The confusion comes because the 2 songs were named wrong on the Substance 1987 2CD set. :(

@oakes12 But when it came to the Deluxe Editions, the "common" names were retained - i.e on the 2-CD version of "Movement", this song is still "Mesh" Which raises the possibility that Steve Morris, and the people responsible for the artwork/labelling on the old Everythings Gone Green 12", were in fact wrong ?!

"Faint heart never won fair lady" - Standing and watching love grow, while doing nothing about it. Hope that one day this feeling will change. It doesnt.
Wonderful song. Despair and yet hope.

These are actually the lyrics to "Mesh".
Now I look stupid, because the entry has been corrected :)

Anyone have any ideas as to what this song is about? I got nothin'.

Musically this is like a slowed down version of "Warsaw" in places. Maybe "Warsaw" as the Cure might've done it on "17 Seconds"!
