If gravity let us go
We would all go flying
And I'll meet you somewhere in the milky night
Away past the satellites

The breeze is dressed so lightly
And it breathes onto this fire escape
Where all our secrets melt like ice
Leaving only water

Night will close us down
And change the view
And I'll promise you what I can
I forget myself when I'm with you

Please remind me who I am
Dancing like a landslide
Swinging round the living room
We fall like sudden rain from sullen skies

Singing to the radio's tune
Say my name aloud
And make it new
And I'll promise you what I can

I forget myself when I'm with you
Please remind me who I am
Day so soon, hear all the traffic move
The sirens all fill this room till we both have to shout

From the road, watching the stars explode
You and I breathe so slow
How strange the sound

This is a lovely song :) I believe Bic is describing a night with a lover, dancing in the living room, singing to the radio etc. They feel as if they are the only two ones in the world, as it is night and everyone else is quiet, gone to sleep. They feel that they are flying, as if gravity has let them go. Bic claims that she knows that night will eventually end but she promises this man that she will try to stay with him and keep their love the same even after the night has ended. She even says that she forgets her name when she is with him, showing how affected she is. The final stanza refers to dawn and the sun rising. The traffic of the people and the world starts a new day and the lovers can hear it as the watch the stars explode/dissapear. They have to shout because the sound is so loud compared to the silent night. The sounds are strange and unfamiliar because they both feel so at ease during the night. I really love this song :) I think this is what it is about.

The way the music progresses through the song is representative of how the couple's love for eachother progresses through the night as well. The way it starts acoustically with her voice and then the bassline comes in and towards the end all kinds of effects and reverb.. the song starts very differently than how it ends.

    My Interpretation
A song about perhaps a first night together, a one-night stand, a forbidden love. A night away from reality. It is just them. Nothing else exists. "And I'll meet you somewhere in the milky night Away past the satellites" One night together. The "milky night past the satellites" is where they meet far away from their homes and their reality; just them. "Where all our secrets melt like ice Leaving only water Night will close us down And change the view" They are in a place where reality and the outside world don't exist, their secrets melting like ice. Night falls, changing the view, creating a moment, just them in that moment. Everything fades away: reality, the world outside, even who they. "Say my name aloud And make it new And I'll promise you what I can I forget myself when I'm with you" They make love, enveloped in each other. They are not themselves. They are one. "Day so soon, hear all the traffic move The sirens all fill this room till we both have to shout From the road, watching the stars explode You and I breathe so slow How strange the sound" Daylight comes. Traffic, sirens, reality hits. The stars explode shaking them back to reality, ending that moment. They breathe slow, trying to take back that moment and yet, how strange the sound, they don't recognize each other back in their reality and back in the real world.
