There's an extremely rare version of this song (live? demo? outtake?) with very different lyrics that can be found on a few torrent download sites. I'll post the words at some point.
Lonliness and alienation. But there is hope in this song as he speaks of escaping by riding into the sun.
I much prefer the instrumental version on Another View to the version with lyrics.
