It's about impermanence and knowing relationships you have won't last forever so you don't want to take them for granted ("I'm gonna tell you something that I ain't told no one before") but you are too distracted by things that don't matter ("That is if I can't stop dancing and get my poor self off this bar room floor"). That's my take on it. The guitar at the end is great, especially on the live versions.
